Report: Consumers Buying More Non-Fried Seafood Meals at Restaurants

The NPD Group says its research has found that fried seafood servings have been declining for several years while servings of non-fried seafood have increased over the last two years. The overall amount of seafood servings fell by 2% from March 2010 to March 2011.

The strongest restaurant seafood demand was for non-fried fish that is grilled, broiled, baked and raw. Servings of total non-fried fish increased by 1% for the year ending March 2011. Salmon servings also grew by 1%. Sushi purchases climbed 4%.

The NPD Group says the growth is due to consumers making healthier seafood selections. NPD says the fastest growing segment of the population, those 50 and older, were most inclined to mention cooking method as of importance in describing characteristics of a healthful meal. This age group are also heavier consumers of seafood than younger diners.

The trailer for Justin Timberlake's futuristic thriller In Time was just released at Comic-Con, and it looks fantastic. In the future, the aging gene has been turned off. Everyone stops aging at 25, then is given one more year to live. Time is the new currency, and the wealthy pretty much live forever because they can keep buying more years of life. But the poor don't do so well.

Timberlake's character Will is a poor worker who is left a fortune in time by an aging and disillusioned old man (Matt Bomer). But the elite are suspicious of Will, who wants to buck the unfair system and he ends up on the run with the daughter of one of the Time Keepers (Amanda Seyfried). Vincent Kartheiser and Olivia Wilde also star. Take a look:

Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson are at Comic-Con to promote The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1. Taylor says his character Jacob matures a lot in the film, because he really has to get over his love for Bella.

Rob says the wedding scene was shot in the freezing cold and wet, while helicopters circled overhead trying to get a shot of the scene. He said it was fun, though.

Rob freaked everyone out by showing up with his hair half long and half in a buzz cut. People says that the horrifying haircut is for his role in the upcoming film Cosmopolis, a movie centered on a young man who makes an odyssey across Manhattan in order to get a haircut. We hope the movie shoot ends soon: we don't know how much more we can stand of the sideways mullet he's sporting.
